California State Assembly District 36 includes Indio, Blythe, Needles, Coachella, Murrieta (unincorporated areas), Hemet, Thermal, Winchester, Palo Verde Valley, and Sky Valley California.
WHERE I STAND ON THE ISSUES
Economy
Creating and generating development in our new district by stimulating investments, job creation, business development, population, and commerce is a must! We need to attract and build businesses if we are going to create and maintain jobs! Small business development and sustainment are essential! Investing and supporting clean energy projects is also vitally important.
Homelessness
Homelessness is a real problem in our country. Sadly, it ends the lives of so many that could have been helped if caught in time. According to the National Healthcare for the Homeless Council, people who do not have homes can die 30 years earlier than people with housing. There are many causes of homelessness; mental health issues, drug addiction, domestic violence, to name a few, are growing. Let’s re-focus and save lives!
Taxes
We need to take a serious look at the current tax structure, implement changes and stop “talking” about the problem – let’s do something about it! Update our tax system now! High tax rates, fairness issues, uncollected taxes, hidden taxes, accountability, to name a few, are all problems that have plagued our state.
Education
We need to continue to strengthen our education system. We must make sure our students and teachers have the resources to receive and deliver excellent instruction. Our future depends on the education of our children!
